The Alun Standard
A repeatable method. An assessment tailored to the objective.
The Alun Standard is The Alun Group's proprietary methodology for understanding whether an organization has the capabilities needed for a defined strategic event or future-state operating model.
It brings consistency to how evidence is reviewed, questions are validated, results are evaluated, and findings become action—while allowing each specialized assessment to define the requirements relevant to its objective.
How The Alun Standard works
Define the target state. Clarify the decision, the organizational scope, and the capabilities that matter.
Configure the assessment. Identify relevant modules, questions, thresholds, evidence requirements, and critical decision gates.
Review available evidence. Examine the quality, completeness, currency, and demonstrated effectiveness of supporting materials.
Use targeted validation. Conduct module-level interviews to clarify material uncertainty and contradictions; bypass topics only when reliable evidence supports the conclusion and no mandatory exception applies.
Evaluate capability and readiness. Record the consultant's supported capability judgments, confidence, risk, and any critical-gate outcomes using the relevant specialized assessment rules.
Quality-review the conclusions. Reconcile cross-functional findings, verify scoring integrity, and document important limitations.
Translate findings into action. Identify dependencies, remediation priorities, accountable functions, and verification needs.
Readiness is more than a single number
The methodology distinguishes among:
Capability: the current state of an organizational practice, process, or control.
Evidence confidence: how strongly available information supports the conclusion.
Risk: the significance of an identified gap or uncertainty.
Readiness classification: the applicable decision output, including the effect of critical barriers.
A strong aggregate result does not cancel a correctly triggered critical-readiness gate. Assessment findings are limited to the agreed scope, available evidence, and assessment date.
A common foundation, specialized applications
The IPO Readiness Assessment is the flagship application of The Alun Standard. The methodology is also designed to support future specialized applications for mergers, acquisitions, integrations, divestitures, and enterprise transformation.
Those additional standardized applications are under development and should not be interpreted as currently launched assessment products. Tailored advisory inquiries may be considered individually under a separately defined scope.
The Alun Group LLC provides management consulting and organizational readiness advisory services. Its assessments are based on the agreed engagement scope and available evidence at a particular point in time. The Alun Standard is a proprietary consulting methodology and does not constitute external accreditation or certification. The Alun Group does not provide legal, audit, accounting, tax, investment, securities, underwriting, or broker-dealer services through its readiness assessments. No assessment guarantees IPO approval, securities listing eligibility, regulatory acceptance, financing, or transaction success.
